parent Involvement
We have a special group of families at Christ the King Catholic School. We are a community of volunteers that come together to enhance the student experience. Here are just some of the ways that parents can get involved at CKS:
School Commission – The Commission serves as an advisory board for Christ the King School in relation to goals and objectives to Catholic school education.PTO – This group of parent volunteers plans fundraising activities to provide learning opportunities and enriching programs for the faculty and students. They do this by raising funds to provide support for school programs and activities, provide communication between CKS families and faculty, and promote and organize family participation in the school.Recess – Parents volunteer during recess times to help monitor students while they play.Hot Lunch – It takes a village to provide hot lunch to our students! Parents help with coordinating the hot lunch program as well as serving the food to our students.
Room Parents – These parents assist the classroom teachers with various activities including holiday parties, decorating, teacher appreciation, and general communication to the homeroom families.Classroom Aides – At various times during the school year, teachers may ask for additional help in the classroom with different tasks.New Family Mentors – Each of our new families gets paired with a veteran family to be their mentors. These veteran families serve as a resource to the new families on anything that is needed.Coaching – Christ the King students actively participate in CYO sports starting in 4th Grade. We are always looking for adults to help coach our youth teams.
